This game reinforces learning to read in a fun and engaging matching game. Childrens conscious sensitivity to speech and how speech maps into letters and written words helps them learn to read. Our computer-animated tutors Baldi and Baldette speak with accurate speech movements, which have been shown to facilitate this learning process.

This fun matching game is played like other matching games except you can control the features and the difficulty of the game in the Settings Screen. The Rewards allow stars to be shown for correct matches. Otherwise, just a score is given. The tile layout can be easy, medium, or hard. Easy shows the actual tile. Medium shows only the type of tile. Hard shows only a tile.

You can control the opening number of tile pairs. When a game is completed, selecting Next Level doubles the number of pairs for the next game. Selecting Main Menu takes you back to the Home Screen.

The tile types allow you to select the types of tiles in the game. You can choose one or two types: Baldi or Text.

The voice volume allows you to control which tile should have speech when it is touched. You can turn off the voice for the letter tiles, for example, if you want your student to play the game without the aid of hearing them pronounced.

The Baldi Settings bring up a new set of options.

You can control the overall audio volume and whether you want a male or female avatar. The speaking rate can be controlled and whether the inside of the mouth should be displayed. Slowing down the speaking rate and displaying the inside of the mouth helps the student learn the pronunciation. Finally, you can build in different emotions in the avatars.

The Library gives a dictionary of how the letters and letter combinations are pronounced, by showing words with their pronunciation.

Enjoy watching your children become familiar with the sounds of English and the letters and words that spell those sounds.

Baldi has been successful in teaching children to read, tutoring deaf and hard of hearing children, serving as a language teacher for autistic kids, and instructing children and adults in learning how to speak new languages.
